dear jane: BIO

dear jane

dear jane began quite simply as three singer-songwriters, sharing their music and coming together as friends and a band. Sadly, the trio was reduced to two, Anna heading off to explore her own opportunities. See her at myspace.com/withouttheblonde

While not being "musicians" musicians we rely on our simple yet sometime unusual melodies, weaving uncommon themes, sometimes even depicting the darker side of the human character, into songs.

Our music includes instruments that we feel reflect our style and the feeling of our songs. We could be considered a string band of sorts, playing mainly 6 and 12 string guitar with bass, sometimes using mandolin or mountain dulcimer and accenting with handheld percussion instruments.

When performing we are usually a duo, but for the production of our CDs we bring together a variety of musician and instruments
Millard Ellingsworth -Producer and bass
Dave Williams -Engineering and Mixing
John Vestman -Mastering
Frank Occhipinti. -Guitar
Steve Smithrud -Violin/fiddle
Stefan Berglund -Piano
Martin Farrell -Drums

We hope that our music touches something within you, either good or bad, but hopefully not your auto-destruct button, cheers !

ron - One half of the duo

Born in NJ and travelled the states as an Army brat, with some time in Alaska, North Carolina and Georgia. We settled in CA, by far the best place to live.

I feel close to the earth, probably because when I'm surrounded by her I feel at such peace. I also feel that we've let her down, not to mention each other. We're all so busy looking for it, problem is we're looking in the wrong places.

Backpacking in the desert and above the tree line are amoung my favorite places along with sailing on the ocean. This is where I find peace.

I have a pic of me playing guitar at the age of 4, so I guess thats when it all started. Well it was likely fwanging, rather than playing. I'll find it and post it.

I'm not a great musician but I do have a wonderful relationship with my guitar. Over the years I've developed an expressive style.

I play acoustic 6 and 12 string, also an electric from time to time, bass, mandolin and mountain dulcimer.

To those of you who love your friends and family, find peace in nature and care for your fellow humans, I raise my glass to you!!

ginny-the best half

sultry vocals reminisant of sirens, mermaids and songs heard on the wind. i write songs, sing, plays uitar and bass.

my haunts are places that those who are faint of heart should not tread. oh not that i'm scary or anything like that, sometimes i just scare the hell out of ... well, whomever might be present. but ron still loves me. of course he does, otherwise i my do something horrible to him.
